Kiwi and Sheriff complements each other in many ways. While Kiwi has the sweet and kind nature of a female, Sheriff for sure is the strong and trustful male. They both have very good nerves and has the ability to abreact and overcome fears. Both are very playful and have a lot of hunting instincts, and are easy to work with. They are both very social towards people, and are very kind with children. Their mentality fits each other perfect.
Kiwi is a sweet and gentle girl, playful and full of life and constantly wags her tail. She is totally uncomplicated, adjusts to every situation and is the most kind little ridgie. She is very social and approachable, and loves everyone that would pet her. She likes to be very close to people, and would curl up in your lap at any time. She is a very curious dog, with a lot of hunting instinct and a very high interest for objects. Kiwi has little aggression when threatened, and compared to Sheriff she has a little more reactions to surprising and unknown incidents. But she have the ability to abreact and overcome her fears quickly. She is quite a though little girl, there are very little things that could scare her or upset her. In everyday situations she is just a sweet, happy, confident and lovable little girl that make a big impression on everyone that meets here. Kiwi have no aggressions to other dogs what so ever, and come into every pack of dogs without any problems.
Kiwi is Swedish and Norwegian Champion and has a gorgeous harmonic conformation. She is livernosed, and have a dark wheaten pigmentation.
Sheriff and his mentality could only be described as unique. In everyday life Sheriff never shows fear, a lot of courage, tons of curiosity and no aggression what so ever. Sheriff has done several mentality tests at different ages, and all tests shows that Sheriff has a quite unique temperament within the breed. With the results from mentality description and mentality tests, I could say that Sheriff has the unique combination of being totally unafraid, he shows little or no aggression, has a lot of curiosity and also have a very high courage. Scoring this strong on courage is very rear for the Rhodesian Ridgeback, and it needs to be balanced perfectly with other qualities. Sheriff has this perfect balance between courage, nerve construction and curiosity, and he also inherit it to his offspring.
Sheriff also have a very high interest in objects, and likes to fetch and carry things. He likes to work with me, but he has the strong-minded temper of a true Ridgeback, making him sometimes unpredictable in the obedience ring. But he has made so much people laugh around the obedience rings, so I guess I can forgive him! Sheriff is a versatile dog, and we have tried literally everything there is to try. We train agility, Nordic Working Trials (tracking and searching), rescuedog (search after people), Rally Obedience, Obedience, Fieldtracking and Sheriff is also the first Ridgeback in Norway gaining the BH-title (Obedience-, behaviour- and shooting-test). We also do a lot of skiing during the winter, bicycle during the summer and swimming.
Sheriff is Norwegian Show Champion (NUCH) and has a moderate and balanced conformation. His best trait is his strong under- and overline, correct croup and loin, moderate size and his long strides when moving. He could have a better upper arm and shoulder, but most judges says his front angulations is acceptable.
He is for sure a versatile dog, and I like to say: He’s got it all!
The puppies pedigree is full of great dogs with both great exterior and great mentality, and the mother-lines from both Kiwi and Sheriff are quite rare these days, and for sure deserves to be kept alive. Almost every single dog in the pedigree is show champion, and it is worth pointing out that this pedigree also have several dogs with titles from working such as obedience and fieldtracking.
