This years last show is over, and Sheriff ended up as Best Male 4 for judge Per-Harald Nymark, breed entry 26.

Sheriff been testet for DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) and is CLEAR!

   

We attended the Nordic Winner Show in Lillestrøm, Norway this weekend, and Isi got Very Good 2 in juniorclass, while Sheriff got Excellent 4 in Championclass. Isi’s critique here and Sheriff’s critique here.

   

   

My sweet little Isi was best junior with champion quality at a show in “Letohallen” this weekend, and ended up as Best Bitch 3. Not bad at all, as she comes from 100% workinglines! She got “only” a 1.prize the next day, but we are happy for all the red one’s we get! Read her critiques here.

   

Last weekend I attended the Club Championship in Obedience with Isi and Sheriff.

It was Isi’s very first time in Obedience class 1, and the exercises was not ready at all. We had just played and had fun training, and a lot of the exercises was not  generalized. But since this was unofficial I thought that this would be an excellent training for both of us.

Isi did quite well, considering the lack of training, and managed 134,5 points of 200. We also got a 0, so I was quite happy with the little girl. The most important thing was that she had a good experience in the ring, and kept her motivation true the entire program!

Sheriff attended Obedience Class 2, and did also quite well. For the first time in his life he stood up from the lay down in group and sneaked up on me begging for some treats. He should know this exercise, but I guess the desire for food was bigger than the desire to please me!  The rest of the exercises was quite good, and if we hadn’t got a 0 on the lay down, we would get quite high scores. But as the only competitor in Class 2, we won!  Sheriff has got the promotion to Class 3, so I think that we would try to compete in Class 3 next time…

I’ve posted a text about the mentality-description (MH) here. Maybe our foreign readers may better understand what MH is and what it can contribute to the breeding?  The challenge with these tests is to understand HOW to read them and draw conclusions, but I hope I will be able to write down some thoughts about that eventually.

   

Some of the Dahido’s “puppies” had their mentalitydescription (MH) September 19 in Enköping, and Winston, Louie, Bella and Alice has now got known mentalitystatus. I have recieved the protocol from Louie here and pictures here, and Winston here with pictures here. The two boys sure shows that they are son of their father! 

15 of Sheriff’s 31 puppies has now done an official MH, and 3 has also done a quite more comprehensive mentalitytest.

  

   

We (Isi and I) have had the most wonderful time in Berlin, Germany visiting Isi’s dogfamily and breeder. Se picturereport here.

  

When we cane home again after 6 days away, Isi and Sheriff was so happy to see eachother! We had a happy run on the newly harvested field that is sorrounding our property. Se pictures here.

Isi has x-rayed with A on hips and elbows! I am so happy that my lovely little girl is completely healthy! 

    

Sheriff has done a mentalitytest at the age of 5 year. He has done an official mentality description when he was 21 months old, but the mentalitytest is more extensive.

Sheriff did a very good test, and I am so proud of him. He is open and available when responding to strangers, and is easy to get in contact with. He has high interest to run after visible pray, but low interest in the pray. His interest to fight with or against someone / something is moderate, he answers directly and with power on the invites, but is easy to control. He has a lively temperament, starts fast in sitiations and is curious. He shows aggressive signal without gravity, and has thus little sharpness (ability to get angry). He shows small defence, he answers with some occasions, could wait or giving up. He has a relatively strong nerveconstruction (frank and concentrated, rapid abreactions, singe mistakes). He is somewhat soft in his social status and independence, making him somewhat submissive, but is not disturbed by his humility. He has a strong courage were he need short time to overcome fear, and he overcomes quickly without help from leader. He shows a good concentration during the moments, but sometimes unconcentrated between the moments. He abreacts quickly, he solves everything in place. He is also gunshotproof.

I think he is a very good modell on how I think Ridgebacks should behave and react.

Isi is 1 year old today! I can’t that she is actually 1 year old already! She is amazing our little girl, which I believe will never grow up but always be the “little crazy girl”!

We have spend our first week of holiday at The Triple Dogshow in Jønkøping, Sweden, then 4 days holiday in Copenhagen, 1 day at the World Dog Show in Denmark and 2 days at the Swedish Rhodesian Ridgeback Speciality Show. Se results from the shows here. Sheriff attended the World Dog Show, and was awarded a 1.prize (Very Good). I was a little bit disapointed he didn’t get a Excellent, but in this hard competition I should be happy.

I am especially proud of Sheriff’s son Damisis Aboisso who was placed as 2.winner in a large Open class at the Swedish Speciality Show with champion quality and ended up as 6.Best Male! He got lovely critique from judge Barbara Rupert, saying this young boy deserves to go all the way!  Sheriff was 3.winner in working/huntingclass with champion quality.

Sheriff and I also attended Obedience Class 2, for the first time in over 2 years, and it went very well! Sadly we got 0 in jumping due to a slight attempt to chase rabbits (bad dog…), but we were only few points from the 1.prize! We also got 10 in general impression, and I was so happy so see that Sheriff was concentrated and happy during the entire program. He didn’t do any big attempts on “running” the show alone! I am so proud of my lovely boy Sheriff and his offsprings! See some pictures from the last week of our holiday here.

Isi has been to her first show! On June 5th she attended the Airedaleterrier Open Show, and recieved 1.quality (Very Good) and was placed as 4.winner in a juniorclass of 6. On June 6th she attended the International dogshow in Drammen, recieving 1.quality (Very Good) and placed as 2.winner with Honours Prize in a juniorclass of 4. Se her critique here.

I am so proud of my little girl! She was never bought to be a showdog, as she is from 100 % workinglines, but I am so happy to see that se has both Beauty and Brains! Just as I like it! 

Sheriff attended a National Show in Vänersborg, Sweden on June 5th, recieving 1.quality and was placed as 4.winner in open class. On June th he attended the International Dogshow in Drammen, recieving 1.quality and placed as 3.winner in Championclass. Se critiques here.

We have spent the weekend at the Norwegian RR-specialityshow 2010 at Oppdal. Over 100 RR entered! Sheriff (NUCH LP1 LP2 BH Kuzonga’s Cheriff) 2nd best championmale with CQ of 11 males entered in the class. Unfortunately not placed in best male. Sheriff’s daughter “Løveklippen’s Chanecia Cleopatra” – Cleo-  1stwinner in Open Class of 20 bitches entered in the class! Cleo also unplaced in best bitch. Se more pictures here.

Great news! Dahidos Laurentii av Hilandra “Winston” HD:A ED:UA! We are so happy!

Thank you Sirke and Winston for the nice picture! 🙂

   

The HD and ED results from Sheriff’s offspring is coming in, and the result is very good! Of 12 x-rayed for HD (from all 3 litters) 10 is HD free, and 2 diagnosed with mild HD. One of them are going for a new x-ray in november, as he was only 12 months old at the first x-ray. Of the 12 x-rayed for ED (from all 3 litters) 11 is ED free, and 1 diagnosed with mild ED. I am sorry for the ones with HD and ED diagnosis, but at least they are mild, and not severe! Se complete list under each litterhere.

We have moved from our appartment on Strømmen, and moved to a little farm in Fetsund, our hometown. Now the dogs have a lot of place to run free, and Sheriff is overexited to have a lot of grass to roll around in! Pictures of the farm will come soon.

We got some very happy news from kennel Dahidos, telling us that sweetie Dahido’s Canephora av Hilandra x-rayed free for HD and ED! Congratulations Marie and Mats!

My photo of Ecco and his watering can was 1 of 20 finalists out of 1500 in a competition from NKK. We did not win, but I still think this is a funny picture, and it is soo descriptive of his personality!
